Case study: DogBreedCompass, a 62 out of 100 site audit and fixes
By Kai · Updated Oct 19, 2026 · 2 min read
The whole-site audit of my site DogBreedCompass scored 62 out of 100. It found a leftover brand name, a look-alike character in the breed database, broken links and thin pages. I fixed E-E-A-T gaps and added FAQ, Breadcrumb and Article schema.
The site
A structured breed dataset generates 66 breed profiles, 2,145 pairwise comparisons and 3,390 cost guides across 52 US cities.
What the audit found
- A leftover brand name from an earlier version.
- A look-alike (homoglyph) character in the breed database.
- Broken links.
- Thin pages.
What I fixed
The E-E-A-T gaps, and added FAQ, Breadcrumb and Article schema. The score is my own audit scale.
This is my own site, not a client result.
