Merchant Center fix checklist: from screenshot to evidence table

By Kai · Updated Oct 19, 2026 · 2 min read

Short answer

List every issue with the products affected, the source of the cause and a label (fact, likely or unknown). Fix the cause in the feed, product page, images or policy pages, ranked by impact. Then follow the status after Google reviews and keep a before and after log.

1. Collect the evidence

The evidence table template has these columns.

2. Fix at the source, in order of impact

  1. Account-level issues first.
  2. Data that does not match the website: price, availability, variants. See the price mismatch guide.
  3. Specification errors: identifiers, brand, category, images, apparel attributes.
  4. Policy and page problems: broken landing pages, missing shipping, returns or contact information, inconsistent descriptions.

3. Change nothing without approval

Access is by user, staff or partner accounts, never a shared password. Every change is approved by the store owner and logged.

4. Verify

Google reviews take a few business days. Follow the status after the review and send a before and after log: issue, products affected, change made, status now. Nobody can promise approval, because Google decides. What you can promise is that every issue Google points to was fixed at its source and shown with evidence.

Questions people ask

Can anyone guarantee Merchant Center approval?

No. Google decides. A good fix removes the causes Google's diagnostics point to and documents the evidence.

What access do you need to fix a store?

User access in Merchant Center and staff access in the store, or partner access. Never a password.
